We are delighted to invite you to our Nourishing Mini Urban Retreat. This is a beautiful opportunity to come together as a community and co-create 2023 as individuals and a collective.
Centred around the idea that there is something revolutionary around resting, quieting the mind and developing and deepening our Yoga practice in 2023, this retreat aims to bring together practitioners in a safe and friendly space where everyone can feel welcome exactly how they are.
A particular afternoon to nourish your physical and mind-body through Hatha Yoga, Mantra, Sound & Massage. In this urban retreat, we’ll dive deeper into the blissful nature of reality, encouraging connection with your inner teacher and intuition. On the physical side of things, the focus will be around calming the nervous system and leaving participants calm, present and connected to what they want to create for the new year.
In the first part of the retreat - led by Letizia - there will be a Hatha Yoga practice with different options and lots of props. We’ll then move into a Restorative practice, where postures will be held longer to encourage the nervous system to calm down. After the yoga practice, there will be an opportunity to share a few reflections from the texts of the tradition, journal about any insight and contemplational and optional sharing.
We’ll then dive into the massage part of the retreat, where you’ll experience the magic of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage. Traditional Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing art handed down from teacher to pupil since the third century BC. Originating in India and strongly linked to Buddhism and is always practised in a meditative mood. It is said to be “the physical application of loving kindness.”
This workshop aims to provide an inclusive & open environment where attendees can practice in pairs and both get a chance to give & receive. Charlotte will guide you through a 30 min sequence focusing on the upper body, using various techniques from acupressure points, static compression & yoga-inspired stretches. We’ll work with the breath, activating the parasympathetic nervous system and enabling us to fall into a deeper state of relaxation. In this place, all the Magic of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage happens, allowing us to come away with freedom of movement within mind & body.
